New Delhi: In a typical Bollywood masala movie, certain factors are necessary. A hero, a heroine, a villain and a good climax. The focus on the climax is because the directors often make the mistake of not paying attention to the climax, which is the essence of the whole movie and a kind of ‘take away’ for the viewer, that is, after watching the climax, they give their final opinion. Makes up about the movie and tells his visitors how the movie was. In this Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie, despite having three heroes, there is no hero, Alia Bhatt is the only hero and the same heroine. There is no other villain either, Vijay Raj seems to be the first villain, but he proves to be a small level villain, there is no climax in the third movie, even if the censor board cut a scene that people would discuss. Although this movie is a big risk for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, because where he kept making movies like ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Ram Leela’ in the name of superstar couple like Ranveer-Deepika and where Alia Bhatt alone without a hero. .

How is the character of Gangubai?
Suppose Gangubai was not a real character, but a fictional character. Now imagine that the character you are making the main character proves to be so weak that among hundreds of girls, someone rapes her badly in her house and she cannot do anything, goes to the door of the don of the underworld. Is. Then Vijay Raj, alone in the role of Razia, goes in front of his entire gang by mixing alcohol in the food, still he is unable to do anything. The police beat up the girls by putting raids on her hideout, helplessly she has to pay money, the schoolmates climb on her room, yet she is unable to do anything. That is to say, whoever you are presenting as a hero, after being beaten many times, he takes revenge once in an aggressive mode, but Gangubai does not do anything like this. She just kills the dialogue.

this thing knocks
In such a situation, in the eyes of the audience, she does not emerge as a heroine, as a strong character. Then again and again it has been told that she is doing such great work for the betterment of the girls of Kamathipura that even the Prime Minister knew about her. He personally helped two or three girls to win the election, which is exactly what was shown in the movie. Being the President of Kamathipura, she was targeted by the school people and she protested only by speaking, but neither did any demonstration, nor took out any front nor did any lawyer, who could fight her case in court, so what did she do? By which the PM knew him, except for a speech at an event at the invitation of someone. He had definitely shown some girls of his house to get admission in school and some of them preparing to open a bank account.

The film rests on Alia’s shoulders
In such a situation, the work which was responsible for Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid was put on the shoulders of Alia alone, that too when the character does not seem strong. Either Bhansali did not show him powerful enough to bring him closer to reality. But you made Bajirao a warrior less romantic in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, you made Gangubai disappear as a drug paddler and made him just a liquor smuggler. So what was wrong in showing Gangubai as strong? Obviously, in such a situation, this movie is a big risk for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Which is based on the book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ by Hassan Zaidi.

Such is the story of the film
The story of the movie is of Kamathipura, the infamous area of Mumbai, where a girl in the 60s is sold to the aunt (Sima Pahwa), who runs the cottage, who was Ganga (Alia Bhatt), daughter of a barrister from Kathiawar. Who was arrested in the love of the same boy and had run away from her house with him in the greed of becoming a heroine. Slowly she settles on that room itself, starts challenging her aunt. When Rahim Lala (actually Mumbai don Karim Lala) i.e. Ajay Devgan’s man rapes her badly at the kotha, then she pleads for Rahim Lala’s rate and he next time comes there and kills that man badly. Is. Due to this, Gangubai’s strength also gets accumulated. Then after the death of the aunt, Gangubai becomes the mistress of that house.
Then he feels tempted to become the President of Kamathipura, in his way comes Razia (Vijay Raj), the President of Kamathipura for years. After their mutual confrontation, another major problem comes to the fore in her path, the 40-year-old girls school of that area. One who wants that the Kothas should be removed from Kamathipura, while some people also join hands with the builders to develop that area. In such a situation, journalist Saifi (Jim Sarbh) helps her and one day she meets Prime Minister Pandit Nehru and manages to put forth her demand.

fake looks set
The most powerful aspect of the movie is that as always Sanjay Leela Bhansali has tried to mold the old times well, some scenes, the sets have turned out to be really good. But due to the theatre, dentist, her lover’s tailor’s house, Razia’s kotha etc. in the same street, it seems that the story of the same street, then every pillar, every nook and corner is filled with posters of old films, making it look like a Bollywood theme restaurant. It also gives a look, so sometimes that set also seems artificial.

Alia’s acting won hearts
The second and most powerful side of the movie is Alia Bhatt’s acting. Although she cannot hide her royalty, her aristocratic complexion, yet she does not answer in dialogue delivery and pouring out her emotions, so she does not become weak. She looks great in many scenes. The real problem has already been written in the first paragraph that when the character itself is made weak, who does not answer, does not take revenge, is seen in the court of Don for everything, how much life would Alia Bhatt put into that character. Then every time it seems that this character will go ahead in this movie, the audience starts connecting with him, like sometimes with Taylor’s son Afsaan (Shantanu Maheshwari), sometimes with Razia, sometimes with the character of Ramnik Lal, sometimes Rahim Lala and sometimes a journalist. With the character of Saifi, but when all these characters suddenly disappear or are sidelined, it is not known.

The songs of the film are strong
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s fight is with himself, like the larger than life films he has made. The expectation from them increases even more. But she does not look like a larger than life Gangubai. His story sometimes seems as if a big turn has to come, which does not come, then in the climax, the scene of Nehru planting a rose in Gangu’s hair was also cut by the Censor Board. The climax was already nothing special. After that it became even more useless. The music is melodious, the songs are well shot, but they are nowhere ahead of their old movies, the Ranveer-Deepika-like energy seems to be missing. In such a situation, to say that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken a big risk by only putting this movie on Alia Bhatt’s shoulders, then it is really true to say.
